Delifrance (formerly LePain Croustillant) – Upper Crust

Le Pain Croustillant (LPC) makes part-baked frozen bread for all the major supermarket chains in the UK. Following a recent review of its logistics operations, the company decided to replace the storage facilities – operated by a third party – with its own cold store/distribution centre.

The company chose Redirack for the design and supply of the storage system. It holds 11, 000 pallet positions and features 12 runs of double deep Redirack racking. Each run is 56 metres long and has 20 bays. Redirack’s sacrificial legs and end column protectors are used throughout the system. At peak periods the storage system handles 300 pallet movements every hour, and at Christmas over 147 lorries per day visit the facility!

Lee Hewitt, Distribution Director at LPC was quick to praise the efforts of the Redirack team “Redirack did a very good job. The installation went well. There were no problems. We are not easily pleased but everyone was delighted with Redirack.”
