Redirack - One Year On

16th March 2005 marks the first anniversary of Redirack becoming an independent company. In 2004, the management team took 100% ownership of the company, buying it from the Norwegian-based multinational Dexion Group Limited.

Since the takeover, Redirack has expanded its headquarters in Mexborough, Yorkshire, to include an additional manufacturing facility. A Phase 2 environmental survey was carried out of the site, which resulted in a good report on all environmental issues relating to the facility.

The new building is being used for the manufacture of Redirack's new mezzanine floor product, Redifloor, which was launched in 2004. It has proved so popular that a new website has been developed specifically for the product.

Phil Culling, Managing Director commented, "In 2004 we explored various new opportunities that enabled us to prove our capabilities as an independent company. We held our first distributor conference, which was a tremendous success. A new roll form line machine was commissioned, which has provided us with more flexibility and a reduction in lead times. Last year's turnover reached figures of over £10million, which is proof that the MBO has so far been a successful move."

Redirack is a leading manufacturer and well-known brand within the pallet racking industry, and competes successfully in a number of European markets. Following the takeover, the management team placed a lot of confidence in the future of the company, and new staff were employed in sales, engineering and production. One significant appointment was that of Emma Brace, who is responsible for supporting distributors with its marketing, pricing and design issues.

In its first year since the buyout, Redirack has installed its racking and mezzanine flooring for a number of companies, details of which can be found in the latest issue of its newsletter, Rack It. Phil continued, "In 2005 and beyond, we will continue to build on the commitment of the work force, the loyalty of our customers and distributors and the determination of all our employees, for what I hope will be another successful year."
