Dale Sailing makes Redirack their first ‘Port of Call’
Dale Sailing are a family run business based in Neyland Marina in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire. Founded in 1961 they provide many services including boat building, boat repair, lift out and storage facilities from their 4.5-acre site.
In the last 20 years as boating has become an increasingly popular leisure pursuit, it has, in turn, resulted in a dramatic growth in demand for a convenient and easily accessible boat storage solution.
Between 2011 and 2013 Redirack installed Boat Racking suitable for storing up to 46 boats at any one time. This Dry-Stack facility was the first of its kind in Western Wales providing Dale Sailing’s customers with the convenience of the wet berth with reduced maintenance costs and improved security. Dry Stacking guarantees quick and easy access to the water with an unlimited number of launches and recoveries.
“In April 2015 Dale Sailing were looking to increase their storage capacity and Redirack were once again awarded the contract to design, manufacture and install a bespoke Racking Solution.”
Dry-Stack Boat Racking
Redirack’s SEIR’S (Storage Equipment Installers Registration Scheme) qualified installation team installed a run of 14 bays of our new HD4000 Series Bolted Racking at the site. This was manufactured in our heavy-duty galvanised finish which is particularly suitable for harsh external saltwater environments.
In order to ensure this new installation met with the SEMA (Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association) Guidelines for static racking, a concrete base was prepared prior to the racking build. Seven of the bays were then installed consisting of four storage levels in height and the other seven at three storage levels high. Boats of up to 3000kgs can now be stored in the racking at heights up to 8700mm from ground level and accessed by a fork-lift whenever required.
This has ultimately provided Dale Sailing with a total of 49 additional storage locations.
