The warehouse had three existing blocks of racking, the latest development added runs and bays to all three blocks, and increased the centre’s storage capacity by around 30%. The new racking rises to over twelve metres in places, has thirteen beam levels, and three different beam sections. This enables the system to cater for the various types and weights of load being stored. The aisles are 1800mm wide and are worked by narrow aisle trucks and orderpickers. Throughout the scheme truck guidance is provided by low profile guiderail.

Extending the storage system within the warehouse has enabled Findel to store more product on site, which in turn has reduced costs.
