Push Back Pallet Racking

Pallet Racking

Push back racking is a solution that combines the benefits of drive-in racking with a higher throughput and increased accessibility. Pallets can be stored in lanes up to 6 deep and are retrieved from the front of the system removing the need for the forklift to drive into the lane.

The pallets are stored on inclined rails, so once the front pallet is retrieved the pallets behind move towards the front of the lane by gravity.

As with drive-in, this is a high-density LIFO (Last In First Out) operation suitable for the storage of bulk products. Conventional forklift trucks can be utilised with the only requirement being tiltable forks/mast.

Push back racking systems provide an excellent balance of selectivity and density.

Push Back Pallet Racking

When a pallet is loaded, the rollers/carts enable the loading pallet to push the existing pallets further back. when a pallet is retrieved, gravity enables the remaining pallets to move forward. In a roller push back system, the movement is assisted by magnetic speed controllers to decelerate the pallets. In a cart pushback system, the movement is controlled by the forklift operator.
