Industrial pallet storage racks from the UK’s principle manufacturer of pallet racking
RediRack’s heavy-duty pallet racking systems are designed to store large, heavy palletised items. These racks are made from durable, high-strength steel and are designed to withstand heavy loads and frequent use.
Heavy duty pallet storage racks are commonly used in warehouses, factories, and other industrial settings where maximum strength and durability is critical. This includes facilities which store over-sized and ultra-heavy items, such as industrial machinery, automotive parts, construction materials, and heavy raw materials.

These categories indicate the load-bearing capacity and structural strength of the racks. Use our guide below to find out which duty type is the most suitable for your warehouse stock and your pallet weights.

Do I Need Heavy Duty Racking For My Warehouse?
Whether you need heavy duty racking will depend on the types of goods that you are planning on storing in your warehouse. If you are mainly storing bulky, heavy items, then typically heavy duty pallet racking is best. This is because this type of racking possesses the necessary load-bearing capacity needed for such items, which keeps you fully compliant with all Health & Safety Regulations. Otherwise, your racking might struggle to sustain the weight.
You can gauge whether you might need heavy duty racking by weighing the heaviest pallets you plan to store. The nature of your daily operations also need to be taken into account:
Choose Standard Duty (SD) for storing moderately weighted items. This could include packaged retail goods (clothing, electronics, homeware), cartons of food and beverages, light industrial components, and consumer packaged goods (CPG). This duty type works well with narrow aisle and wide aisle pallet racking systems, where pallet loads are typically only moderate, and accessibility is key.
Opt for Heavy Duty Pallet Racking (HD) if you work with bulkier, heavier goods or require racking that can handle frequent loading and unloading. This could include pallets of bottled drinks or canned food, construction materials like tiles, timber or bags of cement, industrial machinery, automotive parts, and bulk packaging of CPG. HD racks are ideal for double-deep pallet racking systems, as they provide the extra strength needed to safely support the combined weight of back-to-back pallets.
Select Super Heavy Duty Pallet Racking (SHD) when storing oversized or ultra-heavy materials where maximum strength and safety are essential. Think heavy duty machinery, steel or large metal items, oversized manufacturing equipment, large construction materials (stone slabs, steel beams etc.) SHD racking is ideal for drive-in pallet racking systems, as they provide the maximum strength, durability, and safety needed to support heavy, high-density pallet storage.
Ultimately, choosing the right duty racking is important, as failing to select the appropriate type can breach Health & Safety Regulations.

Industrial Pallet Storage Racks
Our heavy duty pallet storage racks are composed of vertical uprights that support horizontal beams, on which the pallets are placed.
The uprights and beams are all constructed from high-quality, durable steel, which are all purpose-built for industrial application at our very own manufacturing hub in Cannock, Staffordshire. This allows us to implement rigorous quality control, ensuring that you’re storage pallet racks will be safe for use and fully compliant with all SEMA Codes of Practice.
The type of upright will depend on the duty chosen (HD, SHD, see above). The beams are also fully adjustable, which allows for flexibility in terms of the size of the items being stored.
As well as being highly strong and durable, our systems are therefore also highly flexible. You can adjust your storage racks to accomodate items of specific sizes, knowing that our racks will be able to bear the heavy load.
This allows you to capitalise on the vacant vertical space in your facility, maxisming storage space and freeing up the warehouse/ factory floor.
